My girlfriend is older & has a kid; should I still continue with her?

I'm 32. She's 34 with a kid from a past relationship. Is she the kind of woman I should still be with?

Dear Bukky,

Please help me on this. I started dating this lady just last December and we seem to love each other but the day I discovered she is almost two years older than me I began to feel discouraged about the relationship.

And secondly she opened up to me about her 16-year-old son she had way back with someone and she is the one taking care of the child.

She is 34 years old. Please should I continue on this relationship?______________

Dear reader,

Why would you not want to continue the relationship?

Are there toxic behaviours? Has she lied to you? Has she not been good enough?

Are you going to leave her just because of her age or because of the kid that she came clean to you about?

Like I always say when this kind of question comes my way; there are more things to relationship happiness than a consideration of age.

Would you rather be a with a young lady who has no kids but is full of drama than a slightly older woman who gives you peace of mind?

In essence, I believe if you are going to skip away from the relationship, let it not be at the jeopardy of your happiness.

Being younger than your bae is not such a bad thing. And if she makes you happy and ticks all the boxes of your desires in a woman, you surely should be able to handle the truth about her past.

Why? Because the past cannot be ignored when considering why we are what we are today. So if she’s a good woman, all the experiences from her past must have contributed to making her the person you now love so much to the point of getting into a relationship with.
