10 unconventional daily saving tips
You need to be financially smart in a country like Nigeria, so you really need to think outside the box to create other means of adding to your monthly savings.
Check them out even if it seems silly and crazy. You should really give them a try.
1. Replace bin bags with used shopping bags
Next time you go to the supermarket for grocery shopping, you don't need to buy a roll of a bin bag.
You can just convert all the plastic shopping bags into a bin bag. By doing this you have saved a little amount of money.
2. Add water to your washing liquid soap
When you buy a new liquid washing soap for your used kitchen utensils, get the previous liquid washing soap container or any other empty container, then just pour a reasonable amount into it and mix with water.
It would still wash your kitchen utensils clean. You don't have to waste that much soap.
3. Do your laundry when clothes are very dirty
Wear your clothes until you feel you are sure they are really smelly and dirty, then you can wash them. You don't have to be washing every time you wear a cloth.
By doing this you manage the usage of detergent and also water usage.
4. know how to use your tissue smartly
A toilet tissue paper or a serviette has two or more layer.
So whenever you want to use tissue paper, try splitting it into two., it still does the same job.
5. Reuse tea bags.
Just a tea bag can produce at best three cups of hot tea.
So next time you want to make a tea for probably two or three people, you can reuse a tea bag for the whole three cups.
6. Charge electric gadgets at work.
While you are busy at work, you can use that period to boost up the batteries of all your electric devices.
Charge them all up, so you don't have to go home to consume electricity, which adds to the electricity bill.
7. Don't call... flash.
Whenever you want to talk to someone on phone, call the person and when it starts ringing, cut the call, hoping the person you want to speak to calls back.
You extend the use of airtime by doing this.
8. Switch off electricity power source
Whenever you are about leaving the house, always make sure you switch off electricity from the main source.
You might have forgotten to switch off some electric appliances which might add to the monthly electric bill.
9. Don't drive, just walk.
Whenever you need to get somewhere not too far from your house, you don't have to use the car.
Just take a walk. As you are saving fuel consumption and saving more money, you are also keeping fit, so it is a win-win situation.
10. Read at the newspaper stand.
You don't have to get a newspaper from the vendor all the time. You could just go to the newspaper stand to scan through daily happenings and you are good for the day.
