A total of 60 artists and 13 leading international art galleries have been scheduled to feature this year and art enthusiasts are excited.
We have been able to round up some things to expect for the three-day long event.
1. The highly talked about fair will feature some of the best contemporary art in West Africa.
14 selected galleries are drawn from Nigeria, South Africa, Senegal, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Mali, and the United Kingdom.
2. Brooklyn-based, Nigerian artist Olalekan Jeyifous will transform the city’s most recognizable icon, a danfo, into a colouring bus. 'The Colouring Bus' will be a participative art piece open to members of the public to colour it in.
Find this unmissable installation on the ground floor at the Civic centre.
3. Art director and photographer Lubabetu “Lubee” Abubakar will focus her lens on capturing ‘the faces of ART X Lagos’ through a series of portraits taken of guests across the 3 days.
4. Artists Dipo Doherty, Queen Nwaneri, Sejiro Avoseh and Soji Adesina will also be creating artworks live at the fair.
Each work will be available for purchase after the conclusion of the fair.
5. There would also be an exciting live art and sound performance featuring AYE, Leriq, Poe, Tomi Thomas, Wavy the Creator and more.
