Womenswear does sensual, stunning details for Pre-Spring '18 Collection

Style Temple takes deconstruction to a whole new level! Intricate detailing and beautiful pieces are paraded in the Spring 2018 R-T-W Collection.

The high end womenswear brand employs "radicalism" for the intensely beautiful collection infusing soft pastel hues and breathtaking deconstruction on the pieces. "The collection questions and challenges notions around femininity and beauty" a rep for the brand shares.

"The collection subversively breaks typical sartorial order here in Nigeria where there is an expectation of women to dress a certain way or stay covered in spite of their personal choices" the brand notes.

Truly breaking typical sartorial, the collection features peek-a-boo laces done in the most sensual yet strong way, think deconstructed dresses, chic silhouettes. She played with frayed hemlines, cascading peplum details, effortless chic slouchy bottoms on co-ord with bold cutouts (so refreshing), belted jumpsuit with gaping cutout details (fierce and sexy), belted wraps done to drape in the most flattering way and then another with dip hem and lace insert, matching sets with sash details, tiered sheer lace and other unconventional stunning pieces.

For Pre-Spring, , Creative Director of Style Temple "chose to infer a delicate femininity, personal beauty, and radicalism on her pieces.  Radicalism is at the base of the cuts, fabrication, and silhouettes. Radicalism, here, is used as a way of challenging social and cultural standards around beauty, femininity and the female body" her rep Richard Akuson shares.

"To achieve this, OG Okonkwo went soul-searching, for what really matters to her as a woman today, as well as what she would wear in a world free of patriarchy, unrealistic expectations for women and double standards."

Also key to this collection is the idea of beauty in today's world. OG Okonkwo draws from her personal experiences of being a Nigerian woman, having to live up to certain societal expectations and being held to a singular standard of beauty, when there are over a billion kinds of beauty. Especially when beauty should, in fact, be personal and should not be subjected to external approval or questioned or even compared.

"Soft pastel hues were used to indicate a delicate femininity, while sheer fabric and deep décolletages were used for an added emphasis on the idea of protest. A lot of construction and deconstruction run across the collection, again, to lay emphasis on the theme of radicalism" Akuson says.

I just want to get in OG's head to see how she comes up with these out of the world designs period! As always, there's no faulting Style Temple.
