We all know 2015 was a big year for menswear fashion but we need to up our style and fashion game in 2016, so we’ll need to get  a few fashion tips.

Have you ever wondered, as guys, when we meet a lady, one of the first things she’ll notice are your shoes? That’s because your shoes say a lot about your character and the right shoes for the right occasion give a lot of confidence.

Thus, here are 8 shoes every man should have in their closet:

  1. Comfy slippers: This is essential because you don’t wanna walk around the house bare footed but you also want to be comfy so some padded slippers could do the trick.

  2. Boat shoes: These are most ideal in Nigeria because they support our weather. They are lace up and give a casual vibe without being lazy.

  3. Workout/running shoes: Any well groomed man, who wants to be fit and in shape should have a pair of training shoes for the gym and cardio activities.

  4. Double Monkstraps: These shoes were trending last year. They are super dressy, while being comfortable, as they have no laces and can work for a variety of occasions.

  5. Chelsea boots: These shoes were also big last year. The chelsea boots are great for taking a casual look to a more dressy place, due to the fabric type and look.

  6. Brown brogues: When you think of smart casual, you should immediately think brogues because they are casual due to the design but smart due to the laces.

  7. Black Oxfords: These are the holy grail of dressy shoes. If you work in an office or any white collar job of any sort, you must own one of these. They are simple, without drama and get the job done.

  8. White sneakers: I guess these are the casual opposite of the black oxfords. They are comfortable and come in various designs and looks and look great on denim.
