Wanger Ayu applauds the "unapologetic woman" with A/W17 collection

Womenswear brand; Wanger Ayu celebrates the "unapologetic woman" with new collection...

The womenswear brand shares the new collection featuring artsy edgy pieces to celebrate women for International Women's Day.

The pieces maintain a lot of Wanger’s signature play with structure and femininity while going bolder with statement pieces that push the edge.

The brand plays with metallic elements of gold and silver with flirty frills, knife-edged pleats, abstract flower patterns and ribbons. With a distinctive shimmer to each piece, Wanger Ayu’s ‘Brave’ lives up to its name, fearlessly celebrating the complex yet unmistakable power and soul in today’s woman highlighting strength, intelligence, ambitions, sensuality and more.

Bandeau dress, matching shirt over flared pants, embellished shifts, sheer frilly blouses, solid culottes, puffy sleeved detailed blouses, accordion pleated skirts, jumpsuit and more strong, edgy yet sensual detailed looks adorn the collection.

“A collection of self-discovery and the power in womanhood, inspired majorly by recent world economic and political events. It takes a look at today's woman and the true power she holds; fearlessly breaking boundaries and not afraid to stand out, all the while embracing all that makes her woman.” creative director Wanger Ayu describes the BRAVE collection.

With a philosophy of embracing fashion and creating style, Wanger Ayu was one of the selected few to showcase under the British Council Fashion Focus Series, at the Heineken Lagos Fashion & Design Week 2015.

In 2016, Wanger Ayu was a finalist in the Future Awards prize for fashion.
