Police arrests landlord and son for arms possession
When questioned by the police, the robbery suspect confessed that he got the gun used for the operation from his father.
This was disclosed by the state Commissioner for Police, Mr Lawal Shehu, who said the landlord’s son robbed a tenant, Mr Enyeribe Chinma, around 2 AM on Tuesday, June 6, 2016, and shot him in the head.
According to Leadership, the suspect went in through the ceiling of the house and robbed Chinma of his phone and other precious items at gun point.
Chinma was reported to have miraculously survived the gun shot, which made it possible for him to contact the ‘B’ Division Police Station at about 5.30 AM on the day.
Shehu said the police found a revolver pistol, two rounds of live ammunition, Tecno cell phone and a flash drive with the suspect during their investigation.
During interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime and claimed that the gun in his possession belonged to his father, leading to the arrest of the latter.
