In The Dock 5 fraudsters remanded in prison by the EFCC over N29m scam

Five fraudsters including a woman, have been remanded in prison for committing a land fraud.

Five serial fraudsters including a woman, Rita Ukeke, have been remanded in prison custody by a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court sitting in Maitama in Abuja, on an 11 count charges bordering on criminal conspiracy, advance fee fraud (419), obtaining by false pretence and impersonation, to the tune of N29 million, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), reports on its website.

Also remanded by Justice O. O. Goodluck alongside Ukeke were Franklin Ibe, Mamam Mahammed Hamidu, Isei Pius Divine and Yusuf Ibrahim Muhammed, after they were alleged to have conspired to forge land documents, impersonate the property owner and fraudulently sold a land in the Gwarimpa district of Abuja to one Honourable Mrs Ezeani Thankgod Nnamdi, knowing same to be false.
