Doyin Okupe stated on Monday, December 15, during an interview on Channel TV’s “Sunrise Daily” that President Goodluck Jonathan is “like Jesus Christ”

“People do not understand the burden this president is bearing. He’s like Jesus Christ. He’s bearing the burden of everybody,”Okupe said.

Failed ceasefire is not Jonathan’s fault

“Yes, a ceasefire was announced and it was at the instance of the insurgents. What the President has demonstrated today is that he said that all options are on the table. So, when the insurgents call for talk, how can anybody blame the government for that? If it doesn’t work out, that is not the fault of the government.”

Muhammadu Buhari and Atiku Abubakar are serial losers

Okupe stated this on October 15 while responding to Buhari’s declaration of his intention to run in the 2015 presidential elections

“The declaration by the opposition is not really something new. Most of the candidates of the opposition are serial failures. Atiku has tried twice and has failed, Buhari has done it four times and he has failed.”

“If you present yourself for an election, first, second, third and fourth times, what new things are they bringing? Have they gone to school or are they bringing new things. We are absolutely unperturbed. The president is going to contest against serial losers.”

“Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Maj-Gen. Mohammadu Buhari are not serious-minded people; they are going round like people dancing in a market place,”

Okupe stated this on April 24, 2013 in response to the merger of the parties which formed the All Progressives Congress (APC)

If they (APC) don’t crumble and disappear by 2014, don’t call me Okupe.

Okupe also said this in 2013 in response to the creation of the APC

“I have checked through the history of Nigeria, among our past and present leaders, the only one we can call our Mandela here in Nigeria is President Jonathan.”

Okupe reportedly stated this on December 6, 2013 during an interview on Africa Independent Television (AIT)

'Oby Ezekwesili is petty, childish and her behavior is not befitting of a Christian, and certainly not a pastor’s wife. She is unfit for leadership'.

Okupe said this via Twitter on June 4, 2014 after he was allegedly snubbed by the former Minister of Education at Heathrow Airport in London.
