Zvezda Knows Their Quarterfinal Opponent, Partizan Still Waiting: Here's the ABA League Situation Before the Final Showdown

The penultimate game of the ABA League playoffs has concluded, with Partizan, in one of the least significant derbies in recent memory, defeating Crvena zvezda Meridianbet (81:74). Crvena zvezda has a much more crucial EuroLeague play-in game against Barcelona in two days.

Following the game in the Arena, the situation in the Adriatic League standings has become much clearer.

As for Partizan, they still have a chance to secure the top spot and home-court advantage throughout the playoffs, but for that to happen, Dubai would need to lose to Bosna on Tuesday. Otherwise, Dubai will finish first, and Partizan second.

Crvena zvezda, meanwhile, is third and will face Cedevita Olimpija in the quarterfinals. Budućnost and Cluj are also already confirmed as a quarterfinal pairing.

Partizan's quarterfinal opponent, however, will have to await the outcome of the play-in tournament. Igokea, Bosna, Spartak, and one of FMP/Zadar will compete in the play-in.

The quarterfinal series will be best-of-three, as will the semifinals, where we could see an Eternal Derby if Partizan finishes second and both teams advance. The final will be played as a best-of-five series.

There will be a break in the Adriatic League action, with the next games, excluding the play-in matches, scheduled in a few weeks. Currently, according to the competition calendar, the quarterfinals are set to begin on May 8th.
