Spanish international Lamine Yamal is confident he will continue to improve as a footballer throughout his career. The forward has already become a European champion as a teenager and, at just 18 years old, is considered the most valuable player globally, with an estimated worth exceeding 300 million euros. Yamal himself arrived at the World Cup with an injury and was a substitute in the 0-0 draw against Cape Verde, but he is expected to regain full form soon. The next match is tonight at 7:00 PM Bulgarian time, with Saudi Arabia as the opponent, and Yamal could be in the starting lineup.
"I demand much more from myself than what people see. I know how long a road awaits me in my career, and I know there are many things I can improve. I believe in myself and I can use that in many different ways. I have a lot, a lot more football to play," Yamal stated in an interview with El Pais, published on Sunday. However, Yamal admitted he doesn't envision himself playing in World Cup finals at 40, like Lionel Messi. "Absolutely impossible. For me, Messi is the best, and he continues to prove it. He's 40, and he's still above everyone else," he added to El Pais.
