Long after proceedings had been completed on a sweltering day at the All England Club, there was unexpected activity.

Wimbledon's official Twitter account confirmed a "suspected electrical fault" had led to an evacuation of Centre Court.

And tweets from the London Fire Brigade offered further insight into events.

"We have been called to a small fire at #Wimbledon2015 a plant room at the stadium is alight and the stadium as [sic] been evacuated. More soon," read an initial message from the organisation, who subsequently confirmed 3,000 people had been "evacuated as a precaution".
