Wahab promises good Pakistan showing in New Zealand

The Kiwis had no problems against Sri Lanka, winning the Test, one-day international and Twenty20 series between the teams.

The hosts start a three-match T20 series against Pakistan on Friday, but Wahab said they should expect a bigger test.

Wahab believes his team's bowling attack is capable of troubling New Zealand's in-form batsmen.

"We have much more good bowlers than Sri Lanka," he said.

"Obviously they lack experience but we have experienced bowlers, plus we have quality bowlers as well, so it's not going to be easy for them to score runs against us.

"Cricket is very easy these days for the New Zealand batsmen, they've been hitting the ball really well, but it's going to be a different bowling challenge."

Martin Guptill (121 runs), Colin Munro (86) and Kane Williamson (85) enjoyed particular success against Sri Lanka in the two 20-over matches.

Opener Guptill was also in stunning form during the ODI series, providing an excellent platform at the top of the order.

New Zealand are ranked seventh in T20s, a spot below Pakistan – who lost a three-match series against England 3-0 late last year.

The tourists have a pace-heavy attack, including Wahab and the returning Mohammad Amir.

With Amir granted a visa, Pakistan are also set to have Umar Akmal, whose one-match suspension has been put on hold.

For New Zealand, all-rounder Todd Astle was recalled to the squad, while Ross Taylor is being rested for the series opener.

They will fancy their chances given the form of their batsmen, but Wahab will be eager for his team-mates to prove him right.
