Chelsea forward Victor Moses has dedicated his goal against Leicester City to a teammate, Willian who recently lost his mum to cancer.

Willian’s mum died at the Syrian-Lebanese hospital after battling a brain tumour for over two and half years.

The 57-year-old had undergone five operations and received chemotherapy before losing the battle to cancer.

After Chelsea’s 3-0 win over Leicester Cityon Saturday, October15, Moses who scored in the game took to Twitter to pay condolences to Willian and his family.

“Fantastic team performance today great to get another win & buzzing to score.Would like to dedicate the win to Willian and his family today,” the Nigeria international wrote.

Willian who was given a compassionate leave by Chelsea missed the emphatic victory over Leicester City.

Club captain John Terry paid tribute to Willian prior to the clash with Leicester City, dedicating a passage of his programme notes to the Brazilian play-maker.

“We also received the sad news this week that Willian's mother had passed away,” the Chelsea captain writes.

“On behalf of everyone at the club I want to send our condolences to him and his family at this difficult time.

“We are all here for you, Willy, we're thinking of you and we want to win this one for you.”

The other two Chelsea scorers of the day, Diego Costa and Eden Hazard also paid tribute to the Brazilian during their celebration.

Costa and Hazard made a ‘W’ symbol with their hands while they celebrated their goal in solidarity to Willian.
