Underwhelming Super Eagles performances from the weekend

The Brentford midfielder was hooked before the hour in the Bees’ overall disappointing showing in their 3-1 loss at Burnley.

Onyeka didn’t have the usual zest and energy at Turf Moor, while his inability to come out on top in the majority of his duels probably counted against him.

Thomas Frank’s men remain in 12th spot despite the reverse. 

Terem Moffi

Lorient suffered a 4-0 hammering at the hands of Strasbourg on Sunday and Moffi’s showing particularly underwhelmed.

The striker missed a presentable opportunity to end his ongoing drought, which extends to six Ligue 1 games, and he won only two of seven total duels before his 83rd-minute substitution.

Lorient are 15th in the French top flight after game week 12. 

William Troost-Ekong

Watford’s failure to keep clean sheets in the Premier League could mar their chances of survival this term.

Troost-Ekong played in the side that fell to a 1-0 loss at home to Southampton on Saturday, extending the Hornets’ run without a shut-out to 10 games.

Their inclination to let in goals may count against them, and it’s a weakness Claudio Ranieri will look to solve in the coming weeks.

Watford are 16th, three clear of the drop zone, after the weekend’s fixtures.
