At Least 100 Killed By Boko Haram Members Disguised As Soldiers

Boko Haram insurgents disguised as military men have killed at least 100 men in the Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno state.

No fewer than 100 people have been killed in the latest of a series of attacks by Boko Haram insurgents in Borno state.

The attackers who struck in four different villages - Attagara, Agapalawa, Ngoshe and Aganjara all in the Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno state were reportedly carried out by Boko Haram members who were dressed in military uniforms. The men were also reported to have destroyed the telecommunication masts in the area during the attack.

The men were said to have come into the village under the pretext of protecting the villagers, only for them to turn around and begin shooting at the villagers. Those who attempted to run into the bush were gunned down by the men who reportedly came in terrain vehicles,motorbikes and armed with Kalashnikov assault weapons and rocket-propelled grenades.

Speaking on the attack, Hon. Peter Bive, the House of Reps member for Gwoza LGA said many were left dead in the attack.
