Singer wins big at the 2015 Headies

Timi Dakolo has won three awards at the 10th edition at the 2015 Headies.

Dakolo was the biggest winner of the night. His 2015 single ‘Wish me well’ led the R&B singer to win Best Male Performance, Best R&B Single and Best Recording of The Year at the awards ceremony.

'Wish me well' was produced by Cobhams Asuquo. The song is off the musician's forthcoming album titled “Love And Consequences”.

"Sing until someone listens, write until it's wonderful", the 'Great nation' crooner said when giving his speech after being named as winner of the Best Recording of The Year.

The singer won against producer and singer Cobhams who was also nominated in all three categories. He also beat singers Bez and Praiz in two categories.

For Best Recording of The Year, ‘Wish me well’ was up against ‘Ojuelegba’ (Wizkid), ‘Eyo’ (Asa), ‘There’s a fire’ (Bez) and ‘Do the right thing’ (Cobhams).

The Idols West Africa (2007) winner was nominated in the Best R&B Single alongside ‘Heartbeat’ (Praiz), ‘Baby daddy’ (Iyanya), ‘Say you love me’ (Leriq featuring Wizkid) and ‘Do the right thing’ (Cobhams featuring Bez).

The singer was given the title for Best Male Vocal Performance on his ‘Wish me well’. He was nominated next to Praiz (‘If I fall’), Shaydee (‘High’), Cobhams ('Do the right thing’), and Bez (‘There’s a fire’).

Nigerian comedian, Bovi and dance queen, Kaffy, hosted the event, which held at the Landmark Centre in Lagos.
