5 reasons why we love Arsenal legend

Today, August 17 is the 38th birthday of Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry.

The ex-international retired last year after playing for Monaco, Juventus, Barcelona and New York Red Bulls.

Henry spent eight years at Arsenal where he is the club's all-time record goalscorer. At international level he represented France and is his country's record goalscorer.

1. Great striker

"I've seen most things in this league in the last 25 years. I haven't seen anything like this," Sky Sports commentator Andy Gray once said about the former Arsenal striker.

There are very few strikers who was better than Thierry Henry. The former Arsenal man was the complete package. Pace, strength, skills, finesse and goals to complete it. Henry is Arsenal's top goalscorer with 228 goals.

2. A Winner

The Frenchman was also a serial winner. There is this touch of arrogance that he came with which pushes him to always win. Henry won the FIFA World Cup, Euro Nations Cup, two Premier League titles, three FA Cup trophies, UEFA Champions League, two La Liga titles,  Supercopa de España, the UEFA Super Cup, the FIFA Club World Cup and other trophies.

3. Gentleman

The way he walks, talks, plays, dresses, Thierry Henry oozes class with whatever he does.

4. Fashion

Keeping up with his Paris root, Thierry Henry is also one of the most stylish personalities in football. He kills everything he's on. Suits, jean whatever, Thierry is always cool.

5. His fight against Racism

As one of the most popular footballers of his time, Thierry Henry's involvement in the fight against racism, brought the much needed attention to the cause. Having been subjected to racism in the past, Henry became an active spokesperson against racism in football.  In 2007, featured him as one of the 'Heroes & Pioneers' on the Time 100 list.
