The Super Falcons on Saturday, December 3 beat host Cameroon to win Nigeria’s eighth AWCON title.

Since arriving Nigeria on Sunday, December 4, the players have been in a sit-protest at the Agura Hotel.

The players have insisted that they will not leave the hotel until the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) pay their allowances and bonuses.

According to the players, each member of the Super Falcons is being owed the sum of N12.3M ($25,650).

visited the Agura Hotel but the players declined comments on the protest over the non-payment of the allowances.

"Call my coach or the media officer. I don't know their names, just call them or talk to the receptionist," a member of the team said while walking away hurriedly.

The Secretary General of the Dr Mohammed Sanusi held a meeting with the players on Monday, December 12 where he promised them that the money would be paid.

The Super Falcons, however, do not trust the NFF and have insisted that they will not leave the hotel unless they get their entitlements.

“The players don’t trust the NFF again; they were promised they would be paid before the AWCON, the NFF didn’t pay them, now all they want is their money,” a source told Pulse Sports.

This is not the first time the Super Falcons are having a sit-in protest over their unpaid bonuses and allowances.

Shortly after winning the 2004 AWCON in South Africa, the Super Falcons refused to leave their hotel, protesting their unpaid allowances and bonuses from the tournament.

They got their money after staying five days at the hotel.
