President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Amaju Pinnick revealed that a foreign coach will soon be announced for the Super Eagleswhose salaries will be funded by a private sponsor.

Dalung however is not in support as he thinks it will be an indictment on Nigeria.

“If they want a foreign coach, then I will ask if we can't get a National coach from Nigeria. Then that will be an indictment on our country,” Dalung said during a media briefing on burning issues in sports.

His statements during the briefing on Friday, April 1 were transcribed on his Twitter account.

He further apologised to for Super Eagles’ failure to qualify for a pointing the finger one the in- house fighting in the NFF and the resignation of Sunday Oliseh just two weeks to the qualifiers against Egypt.

“I feel we owe Nigerians the explanation of what happened inside the boardrooms that eventually led to our failure,” the Plateau State minister said.

“Hiring and firing of coaches is a problem. The number of coaches fired by the NFF raise a presumption that something is wrong with the NFF."
