Nigeria to play Italy, Cote d’Ivoire in friendly games next year

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will next year be playing a series of friendly games against the likes of Italy and African champions Cote d’Ivoire.

President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Amaju Pinnick made this know during a chat with the media team of the Super Eagles which can be found on their Youtube page.

Though Pinnick admitted that these friendly games have not been agreed on, he however revealed that the game with Cote d’ Ivoire will be played in London while they are also talking to the Italian FA for the friendly game.

Pinnick revealed that the negotiations for the friendlies will be concluded before the end of December.

“I have directed our consultants to make sure that every available FIFA window we must avail ourselves with the opportunity of playing a grade A friendly,” Pinnick said in the chat.

“The Italian FA are very excited about playing the Nigeria game and we are looking at playing all these matches that will raise out game.

The friendly games, Pinnick says is to prepare for the double header against Egypt in the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
