Super Eagles coach speaks on why he does not stay in Nigeria
Oliseh has gotten criticism from several quarters over his decision to stay in Belgium and manage the Super Eagles.
Speaking at a session at the ongoing Social Media Week in Lagos, Oliseh said he does not own any house in Nigeria and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF)has not provided any one for him.
“I want to stay in Nigeria but I don’t have funds to rent a house there,” Oliseh said.
“I don't have an apartment in Nigeria and I pay rent from my own pocket anytime I am in the country.”
Oliseh also revealed that he had an agreement with the NFF that he would not stay in the country and it is stipulated in his contract.
“We have already signed and agreed all these in the contract,” he added.
“I cannot coach from Nigeria because most of my players are based abroad,” he said.

Oliseh was also asked how he can discover young talent in Nigeria and monitor his players in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
“It is not the job of super eagles coach to discover youth talent,” Oliseh said.
“I only manage at the very top level and I my assistant goes around to monitor our players in the NPFL, that was what I and the NFF agreed.”
