Award-winning author has just written a creepy children picture book

Stephen King has just written a creepy children’s picture book called Charlie the Choo-Choo.

Charlie the Choo-Choo, written under the pseudonym Beryl Evans, is about a train conductor and his train engine that is secretly alive.

Here’s the synopsis of Charle the Choo-Choo from Amazon:

"Engineer Bob has a secret: His train engine, Charlie the Choo-Choo, is alive…and also his best friend. From celebrated author Beryl Evans and illustrator Ned Dameron comes a story about friendship, loyalty, and hard work."

Both the title and pen name were previously featured in The Dark Tower fantasy series.

The picture book also carries a quote from King on the front – “If I were ever to write a children’s book, it would be just like this!” – possibly as a warning to parents who don't want there children reading scary books.

The book will be out on 22 November from Simon & Schuster, under the pseudonym Beryl Evans, and illustrated by Ned Dameron.

It isn’t the first time King has explored the methods of children’s publishing. He also published another creepy book titled The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon in 2004.
