The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has sent their condolences to former condoled with former Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi who just lost his 54-year-old wife to cancer.
Keshi's wife, Kate who have been battling cancer for some time, died on Wednesday, December 9 in the United States of America.
A report on the NFF website revealed that president of the football body Amaju Pinnick has spoken with the bereaved Keshi.
“This is devastating. To lose a spouse is the equivalent of a tragedy. I pray that Almighty God will give you and the children the fortitude to bear this huge loss,” Pinnick told Keshi over the phone.
Pinnick further hailed Keshi who coached the Super Eagles between November 2011 and June 2015 calling him a 'Nigerian hero'.
“Keshi is a Nigerian hero and we mourn deeply with him at this time," Pinnick said.
"This has come like a big blow, but we pray that he receives divine strength to cope with the situation, and we also pray that the Almighty God will grant the departed eternal rest,” Pinnick added.
Condolence messages for Keshi have also flooded the Nigerian Twittersphere.
