Nigerian football last week experienced the shocking deaths of both legendary coaches who led the Super Eagles several times in their career.

Keshi who led Nigeria to two African Cup of Nations title-one as a captain and the other as a coach- died on Wednesday, June 8 of from suspected cardiac arrest while Amodu died three days later on Saturday, June 11.

The Senate on Tuesday during the first day of their second legislative year eulogised the coaches and resolved to send a delegation to their families.

The Chairman Senate Committee on Youth and Sports, Senator Obinna Ogba raised the motions on the demise of the former Super Eagles coaches before a one minute silence was held for them.

They also resolved to urge the Federal Government to immortalise the late Stephen Keshi.

Speaking on the coaches, Senate President Bukola Saraki said they will be greatly missed and also revealed that he was close friends with Keshi.

Edo State Amodu was laid to rest on the day of his death in accordance with Islam rites while plans are still being made for the funeral of Keshi.
