CEO stresses the urgent need for speed limiting devices in Nigeria
The CEO and Director General/Chief Executive of the Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON), Dr. Joseph I. Odumodu, is calling out for speed limiting devices in Nigeria.
Recently, he spoke on the urgent need for these devices in the motor vehicles in order to avoid accidents.
“We all know the rate of motor vehicle accidents on our roads today is staggering and there is an urgent need to curb the ugly trend. Urgent and concrete measures are required to address the occurence of avoidable crashes that leads to deliberate loss of lives and properties on our roads and most times on account of over speeding."
The Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC) initiated the use of speed limiting devices in Nigeria on the first of September.
Do you think speed limiting devices will cause a considerable reduction in over-speeding related road accidents?
