Ochei who was the senior special assistant to the Vice Chairman, Mike Idoko complained of weakness of the body before Lobi Stars, 2-0 home victory over Heartland of Owerri.
“He was hail and hearty on Saturday; he even watched the Nasarawa United, Rivers United match at the Aper Aku Stadium. In fact, he drove to the stadium and retired to his hotel room late in the night,” Idoko told .
“On Sunday we chatted and agreed to drive together to the stadium, but after waiting for him for some minutes, I decided to check him in the hotel only to meet him complaining of weakness of the body.
“So, he was unable to watch the match, but yesterday morning, his condition deteriorated and we rushed him to the hospital, where he was refereed to BSUTH,” Aindigh stated.
Management of the Nigeria Professional Football Team (NPFL) Lobi Stars are waiting for the family of the late Ochei for funeral plans.
This is the second death the club would be experiencing this year following the death of one of the players, John George who died in April.
George was on loan at Mighty Jets when he died in Kaduna after a brief illness allegedly related to Malaria.
