Chairman of the commission, Alhaji Usman Abubakar announced the suspension at a news briefing in Sokoto on Saturday.

'' The action followed the repetition of the logos of some of the political parties, while those of others were missing.

'' We could not realize the mistakes until when the branded ballot papers were opened today.

'' We could not open them earlier as the presence of all the security agencies and the political parties was required before opening them,'' Abubakar explained.

Abubakar said that a new date for fresh polls in the local government would be announced later
