A reverend father, Peter Jarvis, has been accused of asking for kisses and nude photos from a young girl who came for counselling in Reading, England. Peter Jarvis has been arraigned before Reading Crown Court for sexual interactions with a minor as the girl was aged 14 at that time.
It was also revealed that Peter Jarvis was also suggesting to the girl that it was right for him to sleep with her. The court learnt that after swapping phone numbers and becoming Facebook friends, Peter Jarvis would take the unnamed girl and her friends out to different places.
According to a report, when asked by Prosecutor Jonathan Seely to describe Peter Jarvis behaviour towards her, the girl who could not be named for legal reasons said, “It was not like how a counsellor would behave but more like friends. I did think it was a little weird but I thought he was joking because he has always been like that. Me and my friends have always said that they was something funny about him.”
The girl also told the court of a time she and her friends were sending each others photos of themselves in underwear and Peter Jarvis asked her if he could see the photos but she refused.
Peter Jarvis, 50, has in the past been accused of sexual offences against two teenage girls and two teenage boys between June 2008 and October 2011. He however pleaded not guilty to those charges.
He has been suspended from his duties at St Michael’s Church in Spencer Wood, Reading.
