School teachers organise rally to oppose Catholic Archbishop

Teachers from four Catholic High schools, filed out to oppose the Archbishop of San Francisco’s revision of the teachers’ handbook.

The teachers gathered together at the chancery office, calling for a rejection of the Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone's latest revision of the teacher handbook.

A spokesman for the protesting teachers, Sal Curcio "The good news here is that there have been some changes to this document, so it seems as if the archbishop is willing to listen, to a certain degree."

In an official statement, the Archdiocese said: "both sides are hopeful they are getting closer to resolving the few remaining bargaining issues on which there is disagreement."
