You can pre-order the new Virtual Reality headset from today

The earlier Virtual reality headset wasn't a very huge success - even though it was a great device. Samung is hoping that pairing the new device with its newest flagship phone will make it more popular.

The next generation of Samsung’s Virtual Reality headset – the Samsung Gear VR Innovator Edition – for the Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge will soon be available.

Yesterday, Samsung announce that the device will be available for pre-order from BestBuy from today.

From May 8, you’ll be able to buy it online directly from Samsung or online from Best Buy and in Best Buy stores from May 15.

The device, which was designed in collaboration with Oculus, is a considerable step-up from the last version of the Samsung headset. That version of the headset worked with only the Galaxy Note, but the S6, a more mainstream and popular device, could ensure that the new generation of Gear VR attracts more customers and therefore more sales.

Samsung hasn’t made any announcements on the devices’ price, although the previous version went for $200.
