Saladin Parnas Knocks Out Dan Hooker in UFC Debut, Challenges Max Holloway
Saladin Parnas proved he's a true star with a brutal knockout in the main event of UFC Paris.
The French fighter officially announced his arrival on Saturday with a devastating knockout victory over Dan Hooker in his debut, headlining the UFC Paris fight night.
Parnas made the most of his opportunity in the main event for his first octagon appearance. He severely hurt Hooker with a body kick in the first round. As the New Zealander reeled in pain, Parnas followed up with a head kick, then unleashed a lightning-fast flurry of punches that sent the lightweight veteran to the canvas.
Ultimately, the referee had seen enough, saving Hooker from further damage, and Parnas secured a knockout victory just 2 minutes and 35 seconds into the first round. With this impressive win, the Frenchman also earned a $100,000 bonus.
"I am the best fighter in the world," Parnas declared after the win. "I knew I would finish the fight. I finish all my fights by knockout. I'm ready for the next bout. Top five. My dream match is with Max Holloway. He's a legend. In good shape, a UFC legend, 'Blessed.' I'm ready for Max Holloway."
Regardless of who his next opponent will be, Parnas proved that the hype surrounding him is entirely justified, now holding a UFC victory after taking out a true veteran like Hooker in his debut.
