How Celebrations In Kano Were Marred By Twin Explosions As Female Bombers Went On Rampage

For Muslims around the country, today was a day of great celebration as the Islamic faithful marked the end of the Ramadan fast and the beginning of the month of Shawwal.

However, for the residents of Kano, the day was marked with confusion and chaos as 2 explosions occurred around the city with the bearers of the deadly devices being young women.

The first bomb went off near the NNPC mega station in Hotoro Quarters, along the Maiduguri Road axis of the state. The suicide bomber involved was said to be a teenage girl.

The second bomb was detonated at the Trade Fair complex opposite the Shoprite mall in the state and again the attacker was said to be a girl of about 19 years of age.

10 people as well as both bombers were said to have died in the onslaught on the state which has seen a record number of 5 bombings in the last 24 hours.
