Rotimi Amaechi, the newly appointed minister of transport, is speaking publicly for the first time.
At the inauguration of the Motor Dealers Association of Nigeria in Abuja, Amaechi made the following threats.
Afterwards, he appreciated the association for providing employment opportunity for Nigerian youths.
The National President of the association, Engineer Ajibola Adedoyin, responded by stressing the need for the automotive policy to be reviewed properly before implementation.
This brings to mind what the Managing Director of Mercedes-Benz center, Benson Uwatse, said concerning the issues facing Nigeria's automotive industry.
Just like Adedoyin, he said the country's auto policy was ineffective because it had not been examined thoroughly, before it's implementation.
"You cannot announce a policy today and say it is taking effect from tomorrow. That has always been our problem with it and since then we have been struggling with it.”
