According to a report by Vanguard Newspaper, the official was reportedly killed in Abonnema area of Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The report further revealed that electoral officials who were on duty were attacked on arrival at the area, which led to the death of the official, whose identity can't be confirmed as at time of filing this report.
