Richarlison: Everton forward celebrates 'hattrick' against Arsenal despite VAR intervention
Everton forward Richarlison is celebrating a hattrick despite his side only recording a 2-1 victory against Arsenal in a Premier League fixture played on Monday, December 7, 2021.
Without a win in their last seven games. Everton produced a comeback victory against Arsenal at Goodison Park.
Arsenal went in front before the halftime break when Martin Odegaard converted a cross by Kieran Tierney.
Richarlison equalized in the 79th minute and Demarai Gray converted a ball by Andre Gomes to score a late winner.
The Brazilian forward put the ball in the back of the net on three occasions but was only credited with one goal.
Richarlison converted a cross in the 44th minute but was ruled out by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR).
The 24-year-old also put the ball past Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale in the 58th minute but was also ruled out before he finally scored late in the game.
After a much-needed win, Richarlison took to his official Instagram account to post a picture from the game.
In the photo, Richarlison was seen holding the match ball and added a caption 'hat trick."
Richarlison will hope to continue his goal scoring form when they travel to face Crystal Palace in their next Premier League fixture scheduled for Sunday, December 12, 2021.
