Record: 5 Million Fans Attended 2026 World Cup Matches

FIFA President Gianni Infantino announced that the World Cup has officially surpassed 5 million live spectators.

“This milestone belongs to the incredible fans,” Infantino shared on social media after the match between France and Sweden, which saw the record broken.

Infantino thanked the fans for demonstrating how the beautiful game unites the entire globe.

The tournament across the USA, Canada, and Mexico is the most attended in football history. The group stage alone drew 4.6 million people to the stands. The previous record was set in 1994, when matches in the USA were attended live by 3.58 million fans.
