The private complaint alleges the incident occurred in January 2023 when four dogs owned by Mendy escaped his property in the affluent Madrid district of Alcobendas. The escape reportedly happened after a gate was left open following a vehicle's arrival.

Reports indicate that one of Mendy's dogs attacked another woman's dog, which was subsequently injured and had to be euthanized. A 17-year-old boy was bitten while attempting to intervene, as was a relative's dog he was walking. Prosecutors are seeking fines for the offense of causing injury.

The 31-year-old left-back, Mendy, joined Real Madrid in 2019 from French club Lyon, but his career has been hampered by numerous injuries.
