The Nigeria Football Federation have paid tribute to late Super Eagles great, Rashidi Yekini who died on this day, May, 4, 2012.
The Kwara State born striker died in 2012 at the age of 48 after a longtime illness and the NFF through their Twitter account paid tribute.
"When a great man dies,for years the light he leaves behind him,lies on the paths of men. Continue to Rest in Peace our Legend Rashidi YekiniToday we remember, YeKing of Goals, the GoalsFather, Rashidi Yekini (October 23, 1963 - May 4, 2012) ," the NFF Twitter account tweeted.
Yekini scored 37 goals as a Nigerian international, and represented the nation in five major tournaments, including two World Cups where he scored the country's first-ever goal in the competition.
He was also named the African Footballer of the Year in 1993.
The FCT recently undefined to score at a FIFA World Cup.
