Forward Marcus Rashford has declared his goal in the championship-clinching match against Real Madrid as the "perfect ending" to his spell at Spanish club Barcelona. The England international has been on loan from Manchester United after falling out of favor under former manager Ruben Amorim. Rashford's standing could be entirely different under interim coach Michael Carrick, who is widely expected to take over United on a permanent basis. However, Rashford himself declined to comment on that matter.
"This is the perfect ending, and I wanted it to happen. I'm happy and I'll enjoy the night. I'm living in this moment, and for everything else, we'll see after the season ends," said Rashford, who scored in the ninth minute as Barça secured a 2-0 victory to become uncatchable at the top of the league table. "I came here to become a champion, and I'm happy with the outcome. The feeling is truly indescribable. We deserved the title because we were the best team. We had our tough moments, but we didn't let them get the better of us," Rashford added in his interview with ESPN.
