However, this does not mean the rest of the world takes a break. No, things continue to happen, thankfully, Pulse is always here to give you the gist.

Here is a list of what you may have missed over the weekend.

1. Pastor Adeboye offers major advice: The general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Enoch Adeboye, has advised Nigerians to go back to God. According to him, doing this would help the country overcome its challenges. Speaking at a special service at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Onikan, Lagos, themed, “The Turning Point”,  the RCCG general overseer encouraged everyone to return urgently to God because the rewards are numerous.

He said, “Some of us, who used to be great and things turned around and are nothing now, I profess that you will have a second turning point.

“You will never go down again, you will move from being to the zenith and from glory to glory, but that comes with a price.

“The price is simply that you do that which was required of you and that is by returning to Him urgently.

“If you are up the mountain and you want to keep staying at the mountain top, be holy, be God’s partner, join hands in doing His work, and abide by his words.

“If you fulfil this part of the bargain, He will surely heal and show you the way upward.”

3. A Muslim cleric allegedly buys 3-yr-old boy for N500: According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), an Alfa paid N500 for a three-year-old boy in order to use him for rituals at Ijegun, Lagos State. The accusation was made by the boy's mother, Mrs Chinasa Okereke. Reacting to this, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Owoseni, said that the Alfa and Simon had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID), Panti, Yaba, for further investigations.

4. Most Rev. Nicholas Okoh encourages women to exercise and be God-fearing: The Primate of all Nigeria and Bishop of Abuja (Anglican Communion), Most Rev. Nicholas Okoh, has advised women to do physical exercise and remain God fearing. According to Naijachurchnews, he gave the advice at the 2017 annual Diocesan Mother's Sports Fiesta at Anglican Girls’ Grammar School, on Saturday in Abuja. Speaking at the event, he quoted 1 Timothy 4: 8 saying, “Everything is going on well but one thing that is very paramount is that the Holy Bible underscores the importance of exercise. Paul wrote to Timothy, he said physical exercise profit us little.

“Achieve the little you can in this sporting event and remain godly.
