The Global Status Report on Road Safety by World Health Organization(WHO) has ranked Africa as the continent with the highest number of accident-related deaths.
"Road traffic fatalities take an unacceptably high toll, particularly on poor people in poor countries.”
We asked our readers if they agreed with this report.
75% said yes while the rest, 25% disagreed.
Asides from accident-related deaths, the report also highlighted the major causes of accidents.
They include speeding, drunk driving, riding without helmets, driving without seatbelts and lack of child seats.
The report also stressed the need for better roads and vehicles.
"We are talking about some rather simple and basic things such as seat belts, such as front-impact regulations, such as electric stability control."
