The shock of matchday 22 came from Anfield where Liverpool were beaten 3-2 by Swansea. Liverpool defence conceded three goals in the second half as their dodgy defence reared its ugly head once again. It is confusing why Jurgen Klopp has not been able to fix this problem. Jordan Henderson remains a suspect in defensive midfield while summer signing Ragnar Klavan has not improved the squad significantly. When you are challenging for the league title, you should be taking the three points after scoring two goals at home to Swansea.

Wayne Rooney has faced lots of scrutiny for almost two years now because of his loss of form and it has been painful to watch. His equaliser for United against Stoke City also makes him the record scorer for the Red Devils with 250 goals. Record goalscorer for a huge club like United is not a small feat, Rooney should be respected more.

Manchester City 2 Vs Tottenham 2: Sours show impressive resilience

Tottenham came back from 2-0 down to take a point from their trip to face Manchester City at the Etihad. Spurs were totally outplayed by City but it should be noted that they conceded these two goals from goalkeeper error. The defended strongly and in a very dirty way too (remember Kyle Walker’s push on Raheem Sterling). City might make a case about the referee errors, but Spurs showed great spirit to take a point from the Etihad. Not a lot of clubs can take a point from City’s home. City already lost here, Liverpool and Manchester United likely leave Etihad with a point. Spurs are currently third, but they pose a bigger threat to league leaders Chelsea than Arsenal who are second.

Arsenal 2 Vs Burnley 1: Silly individual mistakes might ruin Gunners’ title challenge

Arsenal were cruising at home to Burnley, leading by a lone goal and in total control of the game when Granit Xhaka lost it and got a red for a stupid tackle. They had managed to keep their lead into added time when Francis Coquelin made a stupid tackle to concede a penalty. Arsenal won the game, thanks to their resilience and a wrong call from the referee. Their team spirit in coming to win shows what they are capable, but individual errors might be their undoing.

Chelsea 2 Vs Hull City 0: Costa needed for Chelsea’s title push

Diego Costa returned to Chelsea starting XI and got on the scoresheet in their 2-0 win over Hull City. Much has been said about how well Chelsea played in their 3-0 win at Leicester City in the previous matchday. Costa, however, is needed at Chelsea. His hold-up play, goals and overall aggressiveness give something extra to Chelsea. They need him for the title push.
