Post-Relegation Shake-Up: Wolverhampton Sacks Manager

English football club Wolverhampton Wanderers has dismissed manager Rob Edwards following their relegation from the Premier League. The 43-year-old Edwards joined the club in November from Middlesbrough, replacing Vitor Pereira, but was unable to prevent a dismal season that saw the team drop out of England's top flight after eight years.

The Wolves finished at the bottom of the table, securing only three wins from 38 matches. “This was an incredibly difficult decision. It wasn't about character, professionalism, or commitment. It was about determining what we believe gives the team the best chance to move forward from a sporting perspective,” stated club CEO Nathan Shi.

According to English media reports, Cesar Peixoto is the leading candidate for the vacant position. He guided Portuguese side Gil Vicente to a sixth-place finish last season.

Following the season's conclusion, Wolves acquired two free agents: English full-back Kieran Trippier and Mexican striker Raul Jimenez. Additionally, they extended midfielder Andre's contract. This information was reported by AFP.
