According to Gaiya, people think politicians from the southern part of Kaduna State cannot find a common ground on issues and now his stepping down for the former minister has proved such people wrong.

"Look we have learned a lot from former President Goodluck Jonathan when it comes to issues like this," Gaiya told Pulse in an exclusive interview.

Gaiya, who is presently at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium (ABS), the venue of the Kaduna State PDP congresses, said he is ready to support former Minister of State for Aviation, Mr Felix Hassan Hyat to succeed.

"They zoned the PDP chairmanship office to Southern Kaduna and a lot of us came out to contest. People wanted to see if we can speak with one voice. I stepped down for Hassan Hyat after sevenĀ  other contestants have done so. For me, it was not appropriate for us from Southern Kaduna to start contesting an office zoned to our area. We have spoken with one voice and our decision is in the interest of the party. Anyone that does not step down as advised will spend his money trying to mobilise delegates," Gaiya added.
