French coach in talks to become Algeria NT coach after snubbing Super Eagles
After snubbing the
Algeria sacked national team coach Milovan Rajevac on Tuesday, October 11 following their 1-1 home draw with Cameroon in a .
For his replacement, the AFF are in talks with Le Guen who rejected the chance to become coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Monday, July 18 announced the former Lyon manager but the coach revealed he does not have a deal with Nigeria.
Le Guen told French journalist, Herve Penot that he had a chat with the president of the NFF, Amaju Pinnick and told him he wasn't interested in the job.
According to Algerian website, the president of the FAF, Mohamed Raouraoua has contacted the coach.
If appointed, Le Guen’s first task would be to lead Algeria to Nigeria for a World Cup qualifier.
Former Super Eagles coach Philippe Troussier, Paul Put and Safet Susic are also linked with the Algeria job.
A coach will be named before Algeria’s game against Nigeria on Saturday, November 12 in Uyo, Nigeria.
