Respected cleric and General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, has assured Nigerians that the country will not break up next year.
As 2015 elections draw near, fears and tensions abound about the state of the country during and after the polls, but the pastor has revealed that God will not allow the republic to break up.
Speaking to newsman on the occasion of the start of the church’s three-day crusade in Eiyenkorin in Illorin, the Osun State born preacher prophesied that the country will be intact despite fears by its citizens. He said that regardless of the political tension, insecurity and predictions that Nigeria would break up in 2015, the country would not be dismembered and advised against utterances and acts that could divide the country.
“Sometimes people misunderstood the power of prophecy and there are people who will make negative pronouncements. Pronouncements are not necessarily prophecies. Every utterance on Nigeria breaking up is a pronouncement made from observations and not prophecies. I believe those who made those pronouncements made it based on some things they see or feel and not that God said that. Because God loves Nigeria and would not allow it to break up; he has a purpose for Nigeria,” Pastor Kumuyi said.
He also urged his colleagues and Nigerians in general to pray for the end of the security challenges besieging the country.
