Ostoja Mijailović, the president of Partizan, has been appointed as the new president of the ABA League. As he announced in early June this year, Mijailović has taken over the leadership of the regional competition.
Mijailović secured 11 votes, with only FMP opposing his appointment to head the league.
Dragan Bokan (Budućnost) and Davor Užbinec (Cedevita Olimpija) were elected as members of the Presidency.
The financial report was also presented to the Assembly members, proudly highlighting that ABA League j.t.d. recorded revenue growth for the fifth consecutive year. This time, revenues increased by 18 percent, or 980,000 euros. Total revenues reached 6,374,000 euros, while expenses amounted to 3,945,000 euros, resulting in a total profit of 2,428,959 euros, which is 61 percent higher than last year. As in previous years, the profit will be distributed among the League's shareholders (12 clubs).
The ABA League j.t.d. Assembly also decided to issue a public call for applications for the positions of Commissioner for Referee Delegation, President of the Referee Committee, and Disciplinary Judge. The application process will remain open until August 10th, with the final decision on these appointments, requiring a two-thirds majority of Assembly members, to be made by August 15th at the latest.
The competition will be played in a double round-robin format, with the top-ranked teams directly qualifying for the playoffs, while the second and third-placed teams will participate in the play-in round. The quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals of the ABA 2 League playoffs will be best-of-three series.
