Just like Richard Gasquet and Tomas Berdych, Marin Cilic had no answer to Nick Kyrgios in the final of the Open 13 on Sunday.

Nick Kyrgios completed a fantastic week at the Open 13 by beating Marin Cilic in straight sets in Sunday's final to clinch his maiden ATP World Tour title.

The enigmatic Australian has often made headlines for the wrong reasons, but displayed his undoubted qualities to defeat Cilic 6-2 7-6 (7-3) in Marseille.

Kyrgios had already picked up notable wins over Richard Gasquet and Tomas Berdych and impressively had not been broken once or lost a set throughout the tournament.

That was a record the 20-year-old maintained in the final and Cilic could only muster one break point throughout the match.

Kyrgios was brilliant on serve, firing down 17 aces and winning 94 per cent of first-serve points against the fourth seed.

Cilic, who has 14 career titles, made a better fist of things in the second set and had the opportunity to level the match with set point on Kyrgios' serve when leading 5-4.

However, Kyrgios – who lost his only previous ATP final to Gasquet in Estoril last year – held his nerve to see off that threat before pulling clear in the tie-break.
