The arrival of the former president of Vitória de Guimarães was formalized via an official statement, just two months after his resignation from the club in April. He did not seek re-election in the June 13 polls, which were won by Rui Rodrigues.

António Miguel Cardoso's responsibilities will primarily focus on negotiations and player-related contacts, as well as other technical and administrative matters. His title, as stated in the announcement, is "General Director of Football Business and International Strategy for Olympiacos."

In addition to this appointment, the return of Antonio Cordón, former sporting director for Sevilla and also Olympiacos, is expected in Greece within the next 24 hours to join the club's setup.
